Park Bom to sing in G-Dragon & Park Myung Soo’s joint performance

2NE1’s Park Bom is making a special appearance in a song festival for MBC’s ’Infinity Challenge‘.

According to a representative, the idol will make a surprise appearance on June 9th’s ‘Seohae Ahn Highway Song Festival’, held at a rest area in Chungnam.

Park Bom is preparing to sing a song for ‘GG‘, a collaborative unit between Big Bang’s G-Dragon and comedian Park Myung Soo. Titled, ’I’m Having An Affair‘, it was composed by G-Dragon, Teddy, and Kush.

How did Park Bom get tied into such an unusual event? Apparently, the songstress was around the studio when the song was being created, and decided to take part in its performance.

‘Seohae Ahn Highway Song Festival’ is taking place for the first time in two years; Infinity Challenge’s other song festivals were in 2007 and 2009.

The event will host other singer-comedian pairs, such as Yoo Jae Suk and Lee Juk, Gil and Bada, Jung Hyung Don and Jung Jae Hyung, Noh Hong Chul and Psy, Jung Joon Ha and Sweet Sorrow, and finally Haha and 10cm.

“YG ON AIR” episode 3 featuring Park Bom’s ‘Don’t Cry’ band session and Big Bang’s Japan concert tour update

A new episode of YG Entertainment’s “YG ON AIR” aired on May 13th, and it was once again filled with exclusive YG-related footage not seen elsewhere.

”YG ON AIR” is a collaboration with Korean portal site Naver, and it consists of media content that YG Entertainment directly produces. YG had planned this for a long time, as they had always wanted to break away from the frames of broadcast programs and create fun content based on their own ideas.

This week’s broadcast featured another update on Big Bang’s ”Love & HOPE” Japan concert tour, plus a live band performance session of Park Bom’s “Don’t Cry“.

Park Bom felt pressured promoting first ahead of 2NE1’s comeback

With a ‘perfect all-kill’ under her belt, 2NE1’s Bom is looking ahead to what already seems like an explosive promotion cycle for the group’s upcoming comeback.

In her interview with Star News, Bom revealed, “I didn’t think that ‘Don’t Cry‘ would be ranked first, so it was very surprising. There was a lot of pressure since I was the first up to bat for 2NE1’s comeback, and fortunately I’ve received great results.”

She continued, “I think I was really lucky. Even though I felt the pressure of being first, I convinced myself to believe that it was good pressure. I truly did my best in order to make sure that everything was perfect. I’m so happy to be receiving so much love.”

At the mention of 2NE1’s triple title tracks all winning first place trophies last year, Bom was then asked whether the group felt any pressure with this promotion cycle.

She replied, “We actually felt more pressure last year. This time, our focus is on enjoying ourselves. We just want to show everyone who we really are.”

2NE1 will be dropping “Lonely” on May 12th. Stay tuned for their full six-track mini-album!

2NE1’s Bom hits an “all-kill” on real-time music charts with “Don’t Cry”

It took less than 24 hours for Park Bom’s solo single, “Don’t Cry“, to achieve an all-kill on Korea’s real-time music charts (Bugs, Melon, Soribada, Monkey3, Dosirak,). In effect, it completely overtook Big Bang’s “Love Song” and toppled f(x)’s newly released “Pinnochio“, both of which previously occupied top spots on the charts.

Of course, 2NE1’s newly appointed communications director, Sandara Park, shared the good news on her me2day, posting a shot of the all-kill and writing, “Doodoong! South Korea is now all~ getting spring* fever!!!^.^ Just in time for spring, she’s an all-kill on the music charts!!! Confirmation shot ke“.  (Note: Bom also means ’spring’ in Korean)

Congratulations to Park Bom on her successful solo single!
