2PM’s Taecyeon added to the cast of Kim Tae Hee’s Japanese drama

Via tokyohive:

Fuji TV has just announced that 2PM‘s Taecyeon is going to become a regular on their upcoming Sunday drama “Boku to Star no 99 Nichi“.

“Boku to Star no 99 Nichi” is starring Japanese actor Nishijima Hidetoshi and South Korean actress Kim Tae Hee as the two main characters. Earlier this month, it was already announced that the young actress Sakuraba Nanami was added to the cast, making Taecyeon the fourth known regular on the show.

The story is about a South Korean superstar named ‘Yuna‘ (Kim Tae Hee), who happens to fall in love with her Japanese bodyguard ‘Kohei‘ (Nishijima).

Taecyeon plays a mysterious young man called ‘Teson‘, who seems to share some kind of secret with Yuna that could have a big influence on her relationship with her Kohei. Teson used to live towards a certain dream, but he had to give up on this dream due to some unknown events in his past. However, it is Kohei’s niece ‘Momo‘ (Sakuraba) that makes him pursue his dream once again. We will have to find out what kind of events led them to cross each other’s paths, but it could be related to Momo’s growing jealousy towards the relationship between Yuna and Kohei.

Taecyeon already played a couple of roles in Korean dramas, but it will be his first regular role on a Japanese drama.

The producer of the drama commented, “We needed someone who can by mysterious and make his presence felt by others at the same time. Outside of his role, Taecyeon is a very polite and bright person, who always manages to create a cheerful atmosphere at the set. He is going to bring a breath of fresh air to the Japanese drama scene.

Taecyeon commented, “It’s my first role in a Japanese drama and I’m really happy to be able to work together with such a wonderful cast and such an amazing staff. I will exert myself to the best of my abilities in order to polish my acting as much as I can.

“Boku to Star no 99 Nichi” will premier on Fuji TV on October 23rd and air every Sunday at 9 pm.

[Spoiler: Heartstrings] Park Shin Hye becomes Yonghwa’s…

MBC’s ‘Heartstrings‘ recently revealed some fun still-cuts of Yonghwa and Park Shin Hye playing the role of ‘master’ and ’slave’.

Park Shin Hye plays the role of ‘Lee Kyu Won’, a girl who agrees to play slave to Yonghwa’s character, ‘Lee Shin’, for a month. One of the first missions he gives her is to deliver a warm cappuccino to him every morning.

Since it costs $2.80, he gives her $3, but she doesn’t have the chance to return his change until he eventually catches on. He orders her to pay him back with interest, and although she tries to work her aegyo on him, it’s to no avail, as he makes her take out her emergency funds to pay him back.

A representative said, “They’re close friends who know a lot about each other so they work in a way that brings out the best in each other. Viewers will be able to see a new change in their relationship as ‘Lee Kyu Won’ begins to develop her feelings towards the cold but lovable ‘Lee Shin’.”

With the recent surge of Korean acts such as KARA into Japan, it’s not surprising that Korean television dramas are also gradually making an impact in Japan as well. Popular Korean drama “Dae Mul / Lady President” will be hitting Japanese shelves in DVD format in just a matter of weeks, and it’s already an enticing event for Japanese drama viewers.

The drama will be released under the name of “Lady President ~ Oomono“, the latter part of the title translating to someone of great importance. KARA leader Gyuri and Jiyoung will participate in a song that will be featured on the drama’s offical soundtrack, which is set for release along with the series on August 5th. The song is said to be written by fellow Korean musician and famed balladeer K.Will.

Actress Ko Hyun Jung has been praised by critics and fans alike for carrying the drama with her exceptional acting, along with actor Kwon Sang Woo.

Park Min Young talks about Lee Minho, ‘City Hunter’, and crying scenes

Park Min Young candidly shared her experiences about acting on ‘City Hunter‘ through a mini-interview.

She began by spotlighting her co-star, actor Lee Minho. The two engaged in some Judo scenes together, and she mused, ”I got trained in Judo for about a month but since there is a significant height difference between me and Lee Minho, there were some risks for injury. But since we shoot Judo scenes very often, Lee Min Ho swiftly falls over when I lift him. He does it well so even though it’s hard, it’s very fun and satisfying when the scenes come out nicely.

She also talked about her role as ‘Kim Nana’. “Nana is a character who faces the hardship of overcoming her scars and pain in her heart. However, she is very bright and brave; she’s an adventurous woman who confesses to Yoon Sung first thinking that she should always be by his side.

Park Min Young revealed her thoughts about her lauded ‘3-step crying scene’ by stating, “Because I teared up while thinking about my own parents, it was a scene that was very close to my heart. I was very thankful that people named it ‘3-step crying scene’ and was very happy when viewers said that they cried along with me. It also made me think that I should work even harder.
